As a film wedding photographer with experience documenting more than 300 weddings, Addy & Alex’s refined and romantic Meridian House celebration is one I’ll return to in my memories again and again.
Addy & Alex chose June 22 as the day they would celebrate their love at the historic Meridian House in Washington, D.C., welcoming 135 cherished guests to a celebration steeped in timeless elegance and personal meaning.
Their wedding was artfully inspired by the 18th-century French garden aesthetic, with classic European influences woven throughout the day. The overall palette of soft cream and verdant greens brought this vision to life; from lush floral arrangements to chic stationery and table settings that felt both luxurious and effortlessly refined.
Because Addy was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, and Alex also has deep ties to the country, honoring her Taiwanese heritage was an essential part of their design. Tasteful cultural elements were integrated throughout the décor and culinary details, creating a celebration that felt both deeply personal and beautifully cohesive.
To bring every element of their wedding to life, Addy and Alex entrusted Leigh Heiserman of Lauryn Prattes Events with planning and design. Leigh’s expertise is evident in the day’s most memorable details — from two custom bar installations that became focal points of the reception to embroidered napkins monogrammed with the couple’s initials and sumptuous linens inspired by the couple’s travels to the south of France.
Against the backdrop of Meridian House’s refined European-style architecture, timeless interiors, and serene private gardens, each moment of Addy and Alex’s wedding felt both intimate and elevated, a perfect reflection of their story and style.
I’ve photographed more weddings than I can count in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland, plus destinations across the globe, I'd love to give you some advice about which venues may best fit your photography vision.

"We worked with Vicki for both our engagement shoot and wedding day, and she was probably one of, if not the best, vendors we had. She made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process, capturing natural photos. Vicki is organized, thoughtful and of course, talented. She is such a gem! We would recommend her over and over again." - Addy

Vicki Grafton is a wedding and micro-wedding photographer based in Virginia, serving Washington DC, Maryland, New York, and destinations worldwide. With over 15 years of experience and more than 300 celebrations photographed, she is known for refined, emotionally resonant imagery for intimate weddings where atmosphere, hospitality, and design are deeply considered.
Drawn to film for its depth and permanence, Vicki believes the most meaningful photographs reflect not only how a celebration looked, but how it felt to be present within it. Blending film with digital precision, she creates luminous, true to life imagery rich in texture and subtle nuance. Her background in destination event planning informs her intuitive understanding of flow, timing, and hospitality; she moves through each celebration with calm discretion, collaborating seamlessly with planners while allowing couples to remain immersed in the people and moments that matter most.
Her appreciation for intimate destination gatherings is also personal. In 2008, she planned her own wedding in Bali and returned in 2023 for a vow renewal; experiences that continue to shape her sensitivity to atmosphere, travel, and the significance of gathering with intention.
Outside of weddings, Vicki is a mother to twin boys and a dedicated supporter of animal welfare, contributing to local rescue organizations throughout Virginia.
