Rome is Italy’s capital, and is a city filled with rich architecture, art, and culture. From adorable hidden streets to it’s many historical chapels, it is a perfect location for a unique intimate elopement that celebrates a couple’s love for the eternal city. Inspired by all the textures that Rome has to offer, this shoot aimed to capture the romance of this fabulous city.
We began at San Pietro in Montorio, the small intimate chapel being the perfect setting for the vows that begin the couple’s life as husband and wife. There were many places to explore, whether wandering down hidden alleyways in Trastevere, or finding a rooftop oasis near Campo de’ Fiori. A simple flowy gown provided beautiful movement against the hard architectural lines of the city, while lush florals with a warm color palette played beautifully off the surrounding wall colors that have been created with the wear of time. A natural relaxed hairstyle and makeup reinforced the earthy, organic feel of the backdrop created by the city. With so much to see, the beauty of the bride still outshone her surroundings – which is the point after all, isn’t it?
